Does anybody know if there is a difference in transmissions for a 2003 and 2004 Skandic 600SUV. Most parts diagrams doesn't give a price for the 2003 but has a price for the 2004.

Identical as far as I know...

I have even seen a 1998 Skandic WT installed in a 2005 TUV... no improved tapered roller brgs in the 1998 box, but the case will swap right in.

There is a difference in the drive ratio through the trans. I have tried to determine from the parts list what the ratio's are, however board member st. legal posted the following:

make sure you check the seal diameters. They may not be the correct size for the drive shaft. We are going through that issue now with a gearbox replacement on our 99 SWT.

Interesting.

What are you swapping into the 99? Is the seal the real issue, or the number/size of the spline shaft going into the bottom output gear in the case?
