Anyone have specific directions on how to adjust the secondary clutch on a 2000 mxz 700. Photos would be great. Do i need to take it apart?? This would be to adjust for a new belt riding to high or low on secondary, correct?

No need to take apart. The two or three allen head set screws with locknuts on the side of the clutch adjusts the belt tension. To get the belt to ride high in the clutch you will need to turn the set screws counter clockwise. To get it lower in the clutch then turn them clockwise to spread the clutch open. Note you want the belt about flush with the clutch edge or slightly above like an 1/8 or 1/16".

You will need to loosen the locknuts first though before adjusting the screws. This should take a 10mm deep well socket. Good luck. It's simple.

Oh and raise the track off the ground and run it a bit after you adjust it to see where it is going to ride in the clutch.
