The seating position is nice, the seat looks and feels a lot like a dirt bike. It dosen't feel noticeably heavier then my 136" 550F with 10 gallons of gas in it at the front or back either. The front body work is still a face only a mother could love IMO but less so in person then in pictures, it needs more beak. The one thing that concerns me is that big gaping hole in the tunnel just below the muffler, what's to stop snow or even worse ice chunks from shooting out from each side of the seat and fill up the running boards etc? It looks to me like it will be a dirty ride in the pow pow, maybe I'm way off tho, it happened once before

Too bad reverse comes with a weight penalty.

I would love to try this thing out, it looks like fun and should be cheap to run... I'd say that yamaha will sell a bunch of these on this virtue alone, it's got more cred then I thought.

P.S. Don't let this one end up like the last phazer 'armchair review'.

I don't like the big hole between the seat and tunnel either, and I've heard it does cover your legs with snow. Another thing I found disturbing is the heavy feel of the sled. It looks light, but looks can be deceiving, I guess. The thing DOES look like something that was salvaged from a front end collision!
Funny you say that.. I lifted both ends and it didn't seem too bad weight wise, maybe I got stronger over the summer.

The big problem i find with it is the rad sticking out in the open just begging for a stick to go through it. Other than that i like the looks and can't wait to try one out this winter.

well, he's used to an Expedition...Phazer would seem like a sports car after that

Go check out the Freestyle Back country. My 100 pound son can't pickup the front of a 550fan summit, but can lift the Freestyle 2 feet off the floor like nothing. The Phaser will get it azz handed to it by the more powerfull and much lighter Ski-doo. Not to mention the Back Country can handle 4 feet of powder where the phaser can't even think about going into. And the phaser is $7200 where the freestyle is $5850. In my mind there is no choice or anything to think about.

If it had 4 a arms.
I checked one out at the Big East Snow Show. It was worse than I was expecting. Seemed heavy compared to a REV and just try to run your knees into the cowl like I do on the REV. I tried it and if you did it riding agressively your going to either A: break your knee caps or B: break the side panels.

I was thinking it might be fun to try - and it still might be - but I came away thinking it was more of a joke than a sled.

Me too MX-Z Man. That Phazer IS a joke!! And I hope ANYBODY that buys one has very good snow pants as your "edit for bad language" will be getting so called from the snow spraying on it all day!! We will sure know who is riding a Phazer as they will all be huddled over the fire at the bar, LOL... And that sled is FAR heavier than ANY stock 600 REV I don't care what Yamanator says. 80HP sure will be a real fast sled and I can't wait to see the 14 yr. old kids on Freestyle smoking past it...

Let's see:

1) Its heavy
2) Its not comfortable for me
3) The area under the seat is wide open. Snow WILL spray there, something to do with physics
4) 80HP on a 500 lbs + sled is not a good power to weight ratio for making speed

Those are all indisputable facts. You don't need to ride it to get that information and yes, based on those FACTS I wasn't impressed. I did say I would still like to try one, but my first impression was worse than I was expecting. Now tell me, where exactly did Revgod or I say it sucked.

I saw a new phazer in the back of someone's pickup truck today.
I was driving through Port Perry, Ont and he was sitting at Timmy's
I sat on one at Haydays North in Barrie a few weeks ago, and it just didnt feel right. But I must say when its running at idle you can hardly tell.

I can't wait to get my mountain lite and do a damned review to shut half of you up (either the side that says it sucks for reasons a and b or the side that says it's the best thing on snow)
