According to a shop manual I have from Ebay on a CD it shows engagement at 3700 - 3900 with a top end of 8000 + or - 100.

mine revs at 4000rpms to my buddy race me today and he just bought a mxz 440 its piped and a little motor work done and i beat by 5 snowmobile links hes like why does your sled rev so high and i told him thats the way it is so i dont have a clue why i can beat a 440.i thought them 440's where made for racing.

If it's revving high, you might have to adjust the clickers.
