Ok guys,I am going to snowcheck a sled when it is time,I ride 50% rough trails amd 50% flat trails.If I was to get the rev it would be the 800 and If i was to get the firecat it would be the F7.I want a sled that handles great,rides great and looks great.I also want a sled that can keep up with a ZR800.I like to point and shoot I dont really like to throw the sled around too much.What are the pros and cons of each sled?Does the rev still have the ring problems?

Do a search on Rev vs. F-7. This subject has been beaten to death for the last couple of years. They are both great sleds in their own element. Good luck with your choice.

I have an 04 f7 and the rev is better in every aspect except straight line acceleration. Withh the doo It seem like engine issues with the cat its chassis issues bad wheels shaft bering and such so pick your poison but the rev will make you happier imo while your riding

F8 Denny is right. To solve that problem I put 827 up grade in new 04 gade awsome ride with awsome power. Up North last weekend took my buddies F7 with D&D 930 BB by 4 sleds in 1000 ft. 50-60 on lookers.

The New F7's have the diamond drive gearing, and they really suck "edit for bad language" on top end, I'd REV it all the way not even a second thought.

If you are snow checking, it's a little too early to say. I think you need to wait until both corporations release the 2006 line-up. Cat's F8? F9? What will Doo have?

You'll just have to guess and wait like the rest of us...

The list of problems with ski-doos should be included in test reports.

It's too bad that the media is greased by the sled manufacturers and that keeps from HONEST sled tests.

I've got a new Mach and went up against a F7 on the lake a few weeks ago. He got a jump on me off the line but were dead even all the way. I could feel my track spinning but he says his was too. I heard of a similar story from one of my buddies. The F7s have great power to weight ratios. I am a big fella and can through my Mach around on the trails when I ride it like a Rev. Its all personal choice.

Blinkster, If both sleds are stock you should be dusting the F7 pretty hard in anything but a short distance run. I have a friend with a new Mach and there is no other stock sled (and very few trail mods) that are even close. I would get your Mach checked out.

Kinda funny when you think about it....Speed limit here in Minnesota is 50 MPH.

All I can say is if your going to rid the Bumps, the REV is the way to go. This chasis as saved me from myself soooooo many times. If I was riding anything else I would have been toasted. A positive you don't here much about is that the ergos are dead on with the REV. The controls are exactly where they should be, comfortable, and easy to use.

I ride with all Cats...F6's, F7's, ZR900. It is fun....they take me in the straight flat trails but anything with a bump or a corner and I am gone. Two of the F7's are buying Rev's this spring cause of the many problems and ride quality. My best riding buddy has an 03 7 sno pro and the past 2 years he has been in the shop every trip. I made the mistake the last trip cause I felt sorry for him in the 2 three foot bumps and switched sleds..WOW I had to try and catch him and flag him over cause I couldn't take it anymore. He did not want to switch back. We had at least 100 m to go and long story short he blew out is rear susp with 50 to go. I had to ride all the way back and get the truck and pick him up.

My buddy has a 2005 MXZ 800 REV. Its a fast machine and hooks up pretty good with his 144 studs. I ride a 2004 Firecat F6. Whenever I kid with him about F7's smoking him on lakes he always kids back and says, "I'll still smoke you in the woods and the twisties." But I don't get why he says that I am behind him the whole time, I don't have trouble keeping up with him. I see people say "put a bump in a turn or a bump on a straight away" I would prefer if there was bumps and 3 foor whoops to ride. I prefer it better! All the more fun. I rode the rev and It didn't impress me at all. I dont have any problems with being sore. Maybe the fact im 17 and not as old as some as the people on here, but you can't go wrong with eaither chassis. REV or Firecat, you're good to go.

You just told the story with your last comment, I can ride my Rev over 200 miles on bumpy trail and lakes in a day, and not feel the least bit sore the next day ( i'M 23), and that is the difference that keeps people buying Rev's, great ride better ergonomics, and reliability.
