Removing track studs

Hi, I cannot for the life of my figure out how to remove these. Does it take an Allan key on the inside to stop it from spinning and a socket on the outside?

Thnaks in advance

Looks like Torx on the inside...Do you absolutely have to remove them ? Because even with the right tools, I don't think they're going to be easy.
Corrosion on the nuts and wear/dirt on the threads.
You can always try I guess.
Good luck.

Looks like I waste of time to me but if it's not a torx try a 5:32 Allen you can get one that goes on the 3/8 ratchet
Grinder. You’ll destroy any Torx/Allen tools or bits you can find. It’s tedious work but might be your only option with rusted on nuts.

Why are you removing? To replace? You might want to save time, $ and try sharpening those. Biteharder has a tool that goes on a drill that allows you to bring studs back to a point. Might be worth a try. They are not going to be fun to remove/replace otherwise as your going to have to grind each one of those.

Tried to do this once, removed a few and gave up. The Torx or whatever want to strip out if they are rusted. I guess it makes sense on a track with studs that are not very old or corroded.
I took some off one time between bent and damaged threads a die grinder worked best.

I had pretty good luck using a bolt cutter/lock cutter thingy. The idea was to just cut the nut off the stud. Once you got the hang of it, it went pretty quickly.

👆 This! Grab the nut with the bolt/lock cutter. Goes trough it like butter and the nut comes off.
