Removing lower/center idlers for weight savings

I am thinking of removing on of my lower center idler wheels from each side to reduce weight and then I would have an extra for when I doo break one. I am always breaking those things!! I am referring to the idlers right in the middle of the slides. I spoke with some racers and people who i thought were fairly knowledgeable and they said that it is ok to run one or to run none if the snow conditions permit. So which one is best to keep on if you are going to remove one - the front or rear?
