Is it possible? I dont think so. I know they are not too expensive but I am cheap.

Just put on an 1.375" track on my 01 700, and was thinking about a gear change. From searching, looks like the concensus is 23, 43 with a new 74 link chain. Would I get the same result going 25, 45?

Thanks,

Joe

I did it on my chain, no problems so far, but I have only ridden about 100 miles. My friend made his shorter, and his chain broke where he shortened it, after about 500 miles. The only reason I did it was because I wanted to try out 22/44, and didn't want to get a new chain if I wasn't happy with it. I already bought a new chain and am going to put it in before I ride again.

I would just buy a new chain, they don't cost that much. If it breaks, your sled won't move. I don't know about you, but I don't think it's worth risking the $60 for a new chain.

23/43 = 1.8696
25/45 = 1.80
24/45 = 1.875

25/45 is a little bit taller than the 23/43. 24/45 would be very close to 23/43.
