I will have over 6000 miles on my 2000 Mxz700 this season. I thought about taking the top end off and checking the pistions and rings. Any of you experienced motor head suggest re-ringing or new piston and rings for it with 6000 miles ?? Also though about maybe checking the bottom end? crank seals etc ?? I just want to be on the safe side instead of throwing a ring and taking out the whole motor, then we are talking some major coin. Any thoughts or suggestion on what I should do? ? go back a few pages to topic on crankshafts in the 00 700. problems with balancing weights etc. me, i'd go right through it top to bottom. as far as pistons there are options other than oem. someone here should be able to guide you in the right direction.
