Today as I was attempting to put the two halves of my E-Drive back together I thought to myself did I really need to separate them? Then I thought, did I even need to pull the clutch off the sled? Once the bolt is removed couldn't you just slide the part with the spring off the sled?

Nope. Clutch halves need to be banged apart with a hammer. Therefore nothing can be done to E-drive while installed on the sled.

On the older TRA's with the splined halves you could take it apart on the sled. Now you need to take it off. Not a big job. I could have my Edrive off and apart in less than 10 minutes.
