Went on a couples trip from lower MI, rode to the bridge. Then had bridge authority tow us across, we then rode the ice bridge to Mackinaw Island. Headed back at dark and stayed in St Ignace, then burned back below the bridge yesterday. It was a great trip, fun to get on the trails once in awhile. Lots of DNR and lots of people, that's why I prefer the woods.

That was the Devil's kitchen on Mackinaw.

My fourteen year old is going to be my go to friend when riding now that I got another 2014 1200. I'm looking so forward to it. She is my last. I have two older daughter's 25 and 28 and they piled miles on with me when younger. I'm really happy for you they need there fathers

Wife and I rode the iron range in MN this weekend. Trails were great with really limited traffic since it was pretty cold. All the bars were packed though!

IMO best riding to be had in Minnesota is up in the Arrowhead region... beautiful country.

I'd assume that just like our National Forests out here in the west, you can ride off trail within the Superior NF (except for the BWCA obviously)... is that true?

I honestly don't know if national forest land is open to off trail riding here in MN. I know I saw a lot of stay on the trail signs and my wife wouldn't be too keen on exploring off the trail. There were some unplowed fire roads that were pretty temping though with the 4ft base they have.

You'd think those unplowed fire roads within the forest would be fair game. Definitely would be a whole lot of fun busting that out with a Summit.
