has anyone ever removed their y pipe from the cylinder, looked in it and found excessive carbon build up at the end where it comes off the cylinder. I did so i cleaned the carbon out and found some crappy welds that are rough and stick out. This has to hurt the exhaust flow, but does it have something to do with the rave valve? My question is has anone ever smoothed this out, and will it effect the rave valve.

Rave valves have nothing to do with the Y-pipe.

Take a die grinder and clean up those welds.

Good for 1-2 hp....cough...cough....just like the cans.

Seriously though it will help flow your exhaust better.

Better yet when you get it nice and smooth...send it to QC Coatings and have them ceramic coat it inside and out.

Notice the 800R motor for 07 is getting black coated and removing the heat shield. See Mtn forum...Ttabbs thread on page 39 for pics.
