I know they don't have the bells and whistles, but does anyone have info on how they've held up and how they run? Pretty dang low price tag brand new. LOL

Are you talking 2022 model?

The engine was designed with the intent to being the most reliable sled. Bye bye DESS key issues, exhaust valve issues, carb issues, carb out of tune issues (air density), carb high idle issues, highly sophisticated DI issues. The reliability concept is solid with also simple/reliable switches and a regular key.

I have a '21 Expedition Sport. It has the same 600 EFI motor as the other six '21 Sport models. Great performing engine. As Daag44 said, it s a reliable, no frills engine. For example, these 600 EFI's use standard $3.00 NGK spark plugs, not the expensive $20.00 NGK's made for the E-TEC engines.

Almost all are built on the Gen 4 narrow chassis (a few exceptions where the Gen 4 wide chassis is used in the utility models), so some things like seats, windshields, etc. are common & interchangeable. Biggest difference between these seven models is track length & width. Just have to choose your flavor...

I have a 2021 BC Sport 146 that I put about 1500 miles on. It was purchased as a Spring order March 2020 and at the time SkiDoo sent out $500 coupons so buying it was a great deal. My friend bought one too for his gf and put 2700 miles on it. Liked it so much he bought a Renegade this year.
Owning 600 etecs in the past, I felt it was really a fun engine. Super light! I loved the 1.6 Cobra and never had a sled longer than a 129. The C-Motion made it not push at all in the corners. Super fun in the fields and off trail play areas. The seat was cheap imo. Sort of like a Summit seat missing the front section by the tank. I bought a takeoff TNT seat. The throttle was snappy. Like my 600 etecs. It tops out at around 80 (at least my Backcountry gps'd).
For the price, it's a home run. No issues for me except the seat and headlight controls. I didn't like their placement.

I have a 2022 Renegade 600efi that I purchased late last winter for my girlfriend to ride and it just clicked over 500 miles after putting a couple hundred on it on it this past week in the yoop. I have a new 850 that I'm not ready to put into service yet (waiting on springs and hoping my shocks get their brains soon lol) and I absolutely love riding the 600. To me the biggest drawback after riding sleds with suspension I can punish (I'm 230 in gear) is that I have to watch that I don't override the suspension and chassis because you can absolutely fly down the trail on the thing. I'm thrilled with it.

I have a 2022 renegade sport. Super fun sled, basic and very easy. Very nimble and light. The renegade has the 1.35 cobra track and HPG rear shock. It's great for trail riding and messing around off trail. Doesn't have the power of my ETEC, but has plenty of power. I'm not a fan of the clutching, but I'm sure one of the clutching gurus will figure that out soon. Only thing I did was have the muffler ceramic coated - $100. If you can find one - they're good buy. That's If you can find one - hard to get new and haven't seen any used ones for sale in my area of lower Michigan.

I bought 2 renegade sports. So far (280 miles UP riding) I love them. I did add a ton of stuff to them. 2 up seat on both, only one with the back (great seat, very comfortable). Medium windshield, hand gaurds, dash extention with heated cell phone holder, ice scratches, handle bar muffs, windshield mirrors, gas caddie, and a 21L link bag. Ya, $$$ but I feel they have plenty of power and ride great. I would recommend them to anyone thinking of getting one or none hard-core riders.

I have a 21 MXZ Sport with 2700 miles on it from last season. Let me start by saying I am not the buyer BRP was targeting but I believed it was going to be a good starting point, and I'm a fan of built not bought. 6' 220lb 51 year old aggressive trail rider and the seat works!! What people don't realize without riding this thing hard is how effective it is. Sitting on it in the showroom you would expect it to be terrible give it a chance, and take a look at a Lynx seat, same shape. Have had an 850 XRS owner ride it also found the seat to be as good as what he rides on. It's easy to move around on. Mine is sitting on full compliment of Pro 40's with Iron Dog coils front and center shock, Goodwin clutch kit, foot well leveling plates 4 wheel rear axle Pilot R skis, and RS riser under the handle bars (1/2" lower than stock, and same one installed on 2022 Renegade XRS competition package). Have always owned 600's carb or etec and I can say this simple motor performs as well as anything else I have owned. Fuel mileage is decent oil usage is good. I am a huge fan! Mid range is the sweet spot, and the clutching makes that better. It even sounds like a proper 2 stroke, with the un-insulated muffler offering really nice tone. Ski Doo got this one right.

The very low weight of the Sport is a huge part of its success. Move one around the trailer or shop by hand then do the same with a 600R or 850 and it's hard to believe they are all Gen 4's. I was concerned about the un-coupled skid and was hopeful throwing capable shocks would mitigate the problem. Thankfully it did and combining the benefits of the Ras 3 129" track length and great chassis balance and this is hands down my best ever trail sled.

I finally added some miles to mine via groomed trail. Able to cruse at 70-75 pretty easily. Decent acceleration from 50-75mph. Grab a hand at 75 and mine will eventually spool up to 86 on the dream-o-meter.
It really handles the 45-65mph trail speeds with ease.
Underhood mid pitched growling exhaust/intake sounds a bit excessive and annoying but still fun to ride. Going to try my EarPeace ear plugs to make that more comfortable. Maybe put some extra foam in the speaker cavities of my CKX Mission as a first try to remedy?

Ceramic coating has been used for decades on performance parts ??? It is a stainless steel muffler with the welds showing and the welds show rust. And there is a heat issue with the pipe going into the muffler and melting plastic on the 600 EFI. Ski Doo put a heat tape on the plastic to help that. Ceramic coating seals it from the welds rusting and hold the heat in the muffler to push it out the exhaust. Lowers the surface temp of the muffler and engine compartment. Ceramic coating has been popular in auto performance (headers etc) and RV performance for many years. Won't hep if you're looking for noise.
