A supplier here in Canada is testing the market for production of some vintage tracks. The first pre sale is on now for 114 by 15 with flat clips, as well as 139" for Alpines. The second pre sale will include the clipped version of atleast the 114, and I assume the 139. These are nice modern style tracks with 1" lug that we have never had available. Seems like these would be a great option to have! I would encourage everyone that would like one or more, to contact them so that they get enough sales to make this work.

Also some 108s for the Yamaha Enticers In the second pre sale. I would be kind of excited about getting a 1" lug on an RV, or even on the old Elan.

They need to get appr. 200 ordered to make it work, so anybody needing or wanting one, now is the time. We have never had access to a 1" lug in these tracks, ever. Best before was a 3/4 lug, but now all you can get is 1/2".

I have no affiliation to this at all, just think it's pretty cool and hope it works out. I don't really need any tracks right now but may order 1 or 2 just to support them and have them on hand.

Sure would be great to have a track replacement source for Citation 4500s and Nordics. Shipping into the US might be a bear I suppose?

I would imagine if things go well that other tracks will be available, sales numbers will dictate what happens.

As far as shipping, I would think if he plans to sell a lot into the US that perhaps he can get some kind of deal with one carrier for a deal. For example, when I buy Camso tracks up here, the guy I deal with ships them for free. I am sure it costs him something but not nearly what it would cost me to ship one to somebody. I find as an individual, I can't use UPS, Purrolator or any courier like that because prices are always crazy, so I only use Canada Post/USPS, but I am sure businesses with accounts get a huge discount.

I wonder who is actually making them? Track molds aren't cheap, it's not something someone just jumps into making.

I am sure it is being contracted to one of the leading(only) track manufacturers. That is likely why they need a minimum 200 pre ordered to be able have them made. He says same construction as Ripsaw so perhaps Camso, they are based here in Quebec. Just my speculation. Other than that, Composit are a well priced new player but I think their produced in Russia.

Contrary to what some think or guys lead us to believe, many reproduction parts being offered are not actually being made by the seller, but contracted out. Understandable, but sometimes seems as though guys think the seller is actually making all his hoods, pans, bogie wheels etc.

Exactly.

This is not the first time I've seen this attempted.

You, or me, or my dog can do the same, call the OEM's and give them a 200 unit order and they'll certainly make a run. That's what they need to make it worth their while.

You need to post some videos of your dog!

Props to those that do go through with it though and get stuff made. While many are capable, few are willing to actually do it. Just like Craig getting the belly pan boots made, a much needed part. Personally I would love to be sticking a 1" track on my next RV build!

Just had to point out everybody selling parts isn't making everything themselves, yet I often see posts saying "so and so makes those". Not that it's not great to have something made to your specs, but not quite the same as being the actual one making them. I don't think guys are necessarily mis-representing themselves, I think it is just a false assumption that some make.

It's like having a sled at a show and being able to say, I painted it, built the engine, did everything myself versus sending everything out and just assembling it. Still great, but I think you know what I mean.

Assuming those prices are in $CAD, the Citation 4500 track would be about US$381. Not bad in my opinion. I agree these are Kimpex related since the old track # used to be 04-932K. I'm not on facebook, so if i decide to get one or two of these tracks, I'll have to have my friend inquire about it. I'd like to get a shipping quote.

I checked out the sizes..

Doesn't appear they have a 16.5" track for the 86E / 87-89 safaris

(Don't count on my years being accurate :p)
Is that a 114" long? You can put a 15" wide with no changes at all. You can also email him and ask about the wider one. I replace all mine with 15", don't even give it a second thought.
