Doo has a new ice scratcher that is rail mounted. Part #860202330. Anyone see these yet? They are currently on backorder. Would love to get my hands on a set.

They look almost the same as the stock ones just with a bigger tip on them which I see now you can buy to install on our factory ones

Going to get a set when ever they are available

I think it's got a replaceable carbide tip now. Been running carbide tipped ones on the tunnel and not impressed with how fast they still wear. Consider the added cost of the carbide tipped ones compared to no carbide. You can get replacement springs for the rail mounted ones on eBay for like $20 per side with shipping. Just bought three sets. The broad surface of the carbide may throw up more snow but if you're riding on close to ice I wonder how effective they are compared to the single spring cutting into the ice. JMO

I have these new style ones but have never had any previously to compare their function with. They do have replaceable tips now. I understand everything else is the same as the previous tunnel mount ones. I assume if used only as needed they should last until I do something dumb to kill them.

I too only put them down when needed. Last year was my first year with the rail mount doo ones and they work fantastic. Although I did a cross the UP trip which was about 800 miles. Beginning of the trip I must have caught a log or something and broke off the mount that holds it up when not in use. These were brand new. 800 miles later one of them broke off right at the rail. The springs don't last forever is what I learned. This was a trip with all trail and no cross country riding. Now I really use them sparingly.

the only thing new about those new rail mounted scratchers is the replaceable tip and the rail adaptor for the wheel. (now the wheel stays on)
so I do think they are a upgrade
SPI makes the replacement springs

yes that is what we all are talking about
NEW ....it is made to replace the wheel mount, the old went behind the wheel or remove the wheel
so thats cool....
these are the old style cheap replacments

Chris, the ones you show are different than the "New" ones. They are close but not the same. The ones you are talking about (#860201728) have been around for years. I may end up with them if the "New" ones Part #860202330 are not available. I appreciate your help. ✌

I agree the new ones are the way to go...if you dont want the tunnel mount version (I like mine)
or want the cheapo version
but they may not be available untill later in the season

For what it's worth...these do exist, I just installed my pair last night, they are the ONLY scratchers that work with 129" smart shox sleds (the tunnel mount don't work with 129, only 137), and they're awesome. So...yeah. :)
