I have a ‘24 Enduro with the 10.25” screen.. I just bought and installed the GPS module in the last week THEN I read there’s a new module coming this fall for the 2026’s that adds the buddy tracking feature without using your phone.. I heard something like $129 or so..

Can’t upgrade the module I just put in.. need to replace it.. had I known, I would have waited..

Really Ski-doo??? 2027’s getting full BRP go functionality with another new module.. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

And this will be the constant issue with this system I fear. Always going to be an updated module. Some people may not care about buddy tracking but to me with this big dash I just would want it to not use the phone. That has been my beef with BRP’s gps all along. Get it so you just don’t need the phone to run it, which it sounds like it’s getting to that point. I hope this dash doesn’t become another one of BRP’s “just buy another accessory to make it work right option.” Are the 2026 models coming standard with the module at least or does it need to be bought separately? I’m not getting a 2026 but have a friend who is but is not the most tech savvy and usually asks me for help to get his stuff up and running.

who said you need to purchase this?
I have a 10.25 that has navigation whether it's connected to my phone or not which is all i wanted. The only reason a person would be obligated to buy this module is to open up buddy tracking which may or may not be important to the end user.
I gather you don't have the display?

After installing the gps on my 24 I thought it worked great for what I use it for. My group we all ride different sleds so buddy tracking would not work anyways. I will say I wish BRP would just release all applications phone free and be done with it. My son is buying a Polaris with the 7s, so I will ride that as well over the next few seasons and who knows maybe I will switch brands then as well? The new Garmin on Cat works well also, a guy in my group has one.

What you wish for is what I’ve been saying all along too. Shouldn’t need all of these extras after the fact. Great that they are finally figuring stuff out to run without a phone for the models previous, but this should not be an extra on the models coming out next season.

My rule is thumb is Proprietary hardware sucks, no matter how good it is. An App on a phone is the way to go. When technology advances your hardware does not become outdated.

Currently I just run the ride command on my phone, if the go app gets better I will switch to that, if something else comes along that is better I will switch to that. If my phone stops working then guess what? New phone time.

I am not willing to be stuck with a $1500 paper weight of a screen because it was cool 5 years ago. you will never win that battle.

some things like group ride without cell is lost, but that is not an important feature to me.

Why did it take Doo 3 years to make a mostly-fully functioning gauge and why, in those 3 years, were they unable to work a deal with Poo so both can track each other's sleds?

I got the big gauge on my 2023 and didn't get it on my ordered 2026. Made more sense to spend about half the money I'd spend on the big gauge and get a Trail Tech Voyager Pro instead, that allows me to track and be tracked by my Polaris buddies and other Doo guys using the Trail Tech.

And not to dump on Doo completely, I love the changes they made to their mountain sleds for 2026!

The G8 Garmin on the Cat's worked very well this year. The engine in the 858 maybe not so much except for those who had good ones. Some controversy of course on them. But the Gps setup and display setup with the G8 was very good overall from what I read about them. I ride with a guy who has one on a 858 and he had no complaints about it. The engine had the fade and he did the fixes through the dealer for that. It ran well though. I ran him at the LH race track and he had me two out of three times. It's a good running machine.
