1996 formula z 583, it was running fine then quit. Seemed like it was starved for gas. Towed it home, garaged, it started the next day and didn't sound good. Shut it down tore off the heads and found the problem. The lifting rod bearing on the crank was toast. One piston is scored badly the other is ok, the cylinder walls look and feel ok they are just slightly scrached. I am assuming I will need to take the crank to a dealer/shop to replace the lifter and bad bearing, replace both pistons and rings, and hone the cylinders. This seems like alot of money and work, is it worth it? Is this machine a part out? A possible fix then trade in? This is my first snowmobile. I will be calling the shop tomorrow. Looking for some suggestions and maybe just a little sympathy.

Thanks in advance
