Oh they can..........Will they nope! they can't and no maufacturer will warranty that would be called an installer screw up even though you may have done everything properly, they can't be responsible unless thier technician put it in and they don't doo that now if you had a dealer do it maybe they would help, If it cracked in half tho sounds like you may have really put the squish on it do a search I think quite a few guys on here recommend using the oem clips oppossed to wiesco's. Man that sucks the only thing you could and should do is try to take photo's of all the damage and the broken clip email and or send photo's to them and see what they say. Keep copies of the photo's tho. But unfortunately you are probably out of luck, sorry to hear that is this a rebuild you just did or did it happen end of last season and you are just repairing now? is the latter you are def not gonna get anything.

It went out in a drag race last winter. still held first the first day up to the 700 class with it like that. but i just pulled it out this past weekend and sent the cilender out for a remanufactured one. still got the piston and the clip o and my head, i was intrested in RKtek's head but haven't hurd back from them. to get a good head do i have to masure that squash clearance??? the only base gasket i have left is 6 hole form the 5 that was in there stock. so i don't want to lose psi but i hurd that raising the port timeing is good for a few poneys. Anyways thanks for the help
Very common failure....often due to install error where the clip gets bent of tweaked.
i put it in the way i alway do all mine...put one side in...take some needle nose and twist the other end in. i never had this happen to me befor...but i have only owned 7 sleds in in my life. but i did do countlis rebuilds.
I had the same thing happen on me early last year when i still had my yami.

Didnt get more than 5 miles and i broke and screwed over my brand new jug!!! I was "edit for bad language"!!!!

I kept riding it for 3 more weeks running on 1 1/2 cylinders
till it finally gave up the ghost for good and bought my gade!

Oh that is classic, I did the same thing with my 700 MM. Wich was ported bored and piped with Benders. Even had my carbs bored. The sled was sick and I mean sick, for all of teh 30 miles it lasted. Funny thing was I reinstalled all the 700 parts and bought myself a Gade aswell. I think of it as a blessing in disguise. Best irrational purchase I ever made.

Still have that old yammie engine lying around I think.
I only use them once. If it doesn't feel like its going in right, throw it away and get another new one.
Never use the same one twice.
biggziff is absolutely correct, I have seen a number of circlip failures over the years and they all had one thing in common, incorrect installation, either bent out of round or tweaked out of round, this will cause the circlip to come out and then it gets broken, they don't break and fall out. Just my 2 cents. -- Bill
