Munster throttle with seadoo heated grips?

The last couple of seasons, I've had increased issues with "throttle fatigue" on my right thumb and wrist. This summer I picked up a seadoo for some summer throttle therapy. I was looking into extending riding into the fall and noticed doo sells heated grips for seadoo. The connection looks compatible with some ski doo accessories. I find the finger throttle quite comfortable, and the extra support on the thumb pad and wrists is awesome. Anyone have any insight if it might be possible to set up a Munster throttle with the Sea-Doo heated grips?

Have you looked into the Ski Doo 4 strokes with ITC throttle. The thumb flipper can be turned on the handlebars to use as a finger throttle. It is also a light throttle pull so there is less fatigue when using as a standard throttle. Some have complained that it doesn't have the feel of a mechanical throttle. For me it didn't take any time at all to get used to.

Yes, I have one on my 900 ACE, and I use it back and forth when I ride that... I would love to try a Seadoo throttle and grip style setup on my 850 tho. It's just a cable and a flipper, I don't see why it couldn't be adapted to a sled. I never tried a Munster setup, but I read about them here on DT in the past, and saw some guys were raving about it...

The handlebar dimensions are the same on both (22mm) But the Sea-Doo grips are a bit different!.. They are not rubber all the way in! The inner core is of hard plastic and bolted at the ends with a special grove and a washer to keep them from moving on the bars even if water/moister would get in there!

So to be able to run the Sea-Doo grips you would also have to use Sea-Doo handlebars! Or do this type of modification to a "none curved edged" handlebars!..

The only issue I see is that the Munster finger throttle lever is a bit shorter then the Sea-doo lever! But that might not be a problem!.. I can't really say!..

Here is another thread about it with some more details: Seadoo Grips Fit On Skidoo?

I use the Munster finger throttle for the Ski-Doo's and I’m also a Sea-Doo rider!..

they arent super smooth operating but the lefty throttles arent too bad. they can at least help to swap back and forth for a bit to help give your right hand/thumb a rest. I had a sled set up that way for my wife, not sure if she ever actually used it though haha. you can use your right to get it where you want then hold it with the left, if it is an open straight section or you can operate it fully with the left. takes a little practice but certainly doo-able.

That does reduce overall top speed, but you probably aren’t concerned with that. That said have you adjusted the position of the throttle? Placing your hands on the handle bar and your thumb on throttle is your wrist straight or kinked? If kinked, that’s bad at least for those of us with wrist issues ;), try adjusting so wrist is straight.

I'm not opposed to lefty. Any pics of what that setup looks like?

I've tried a bunch of stuff believe me. I rode underhanded palm up quite a few miles last season. I've gotten quite used to that... Elbows in, Palms up thumbs over the top. Keep thumb, index, and middle finger tight on bar, run throttle with last two fingers. Couldn't do it with only RH, had to do it with both hands or I couldn't make it work.

Seadoo is easier on me, make a fist run it with the side or half of your index finger.

Looking things over, not sure I realized 2021 850 etec you can reverse the throttle block. Not sure if I can doo that with the goldfinger, might have to lock it down, but I don't see why I couldn't lock the RH throttle in either position forward or back??... Will see when I get it on there I guess.

Goldfinger is 1/2" (13mm) wide on the LH bar, choice to locate over grip or over the bar... don't see why you couldn't split the difference if you wanted either...

Looks like I can get a Goldfinger set up with RH Doo flipper forward... Or get a Munster RH set up. Either way, I'm still missing the Seadoo grips I was after. Since the Seadoo grip swap is not an option, I had a thought of cutting the palm section off the Seadoo grips and JB welding them to the doo heated grips. I would cut them at the radius of the doo grips to get a good radiused surface area to adhere to.

Do you think it would hold up?
