I'm thinking im gonna put the munster finger throttle on my sled this year, someone warned me that they've heard of the throttle cable getting snow in it and icing up, is this a legit concern? Seems like it can happen just as easily with the thumb throttle. I know I know you're putting the cable on the front side of the bars, more exposed but if you're in the deep snow it seems equally as possible with oem throttle setup. Any input?
Thanks

I have not ever had an issue. I have left it out overnight and snow got accumulated on it. No issues that I can think of.

I did buy the hand guard part and only install the clamp part that the guard attaches to. It is my understanding that the guard provides some support to the cable that allows it to last longer.

I could see it being more prone to freezing with the cable facing forward in fresh deep powder...Maybe a rubber boot cable guard would be a safety improvment?

This is old thread but good pic of Munster.

Question:

Has anyone made a true "Lefty" with this setup and put the brake on the right? There must be some left-handed guys out there?

pretty easy to make the "lefty throttle" you would likely need a front brake lever and reservoir from a motorcycle to get the brakes on the right side.
