Wondering what you guys that ride the deep stuff daily are using as gloves. Looking at the 509s they seem good. Any suggestions?

I'm into my third pair of ski-doo backcountry gloves. The first two pairs are ok for backups as they pack down small.
My hands would get cold after -15 in them if going somewhere fast and windchill comes into play. In the tree playground they're still fine at those temps when you're working hard.
Very dexterous functional glove with great waterproofing.
Whenever I try on other brands they just feel too bulky to me.
I hear the motorfist glove is nice, haven't tried it on though.

I always battle with gloves. I have never had a pair last a full season let alone multiple seasons like others I know and ride with. That said here are my findings. I ride with a gauntlet glove on the trail rides in/out to keep hands warm and then switch to a lighter glove for riding unless it's a really cold day. The best gauntlet I have found are True Adventure Gear which aren't around anymore but near as I can tell 509 uses a similar design and the same factory or the old Klim Togwotee (the new ones suck, fingers freeze up too easily). Moto gloves are too light for me and get wet very quickly digging out stucks so I can only use those in late spring so I bought the light, un-insulated 509 factor gloves as they are a bit more water resistant and wind resistant. So yeah try the 509's.

Hmm, which gloves. Don't think you'll find a true answer, of the absolute best (kinda like asking which goggles). As with most of the guys I ride with, we carry an assortment of gloves. I run pretty much all Klim gloves now, decent luck with them. Usually on me and my sled I have two pairs of uninsulated Inversions, and one insulated pair of Inversions. Also carry a pair or two Powerscross gloves (for the goretex). Lastly a big pair of the Klim mittens for if there is an accidental overnight.

All gloves will get wet, period. If not from snow, then from your sweaty mits. Having a dry pair for the ride off the mountain is huge. Also having options depending on conditions is nice. Gloves pack up tight, so no reason to not have a couple extras. Same goes for goggles, having at least two pair is standard issue.

Like helmets, goggles, really any gear...it’s all subjective. SkiDoo grip gloves have worked well for me and are reasonably priced if you like under-cuff gloves. I tried Tobe gloves this season; they are great quality, but wish I would have bought one size smaller...my fingers bunch up if I try to put gloves on too quickly and my hands are moist.

A lot has to do with weather and conditions. But all I can say I bring plenty of spares. Gloves will get wet, that's all part of it.
I don't care which ones you own.

I like Doo, Fox, Thor, Mechanic, TOBE.....

I usually destroy a few pairs of gloves every year. I can't say one is truly superior, but my mid temp TOBEs are amazing for cold, fresh pow days

Myself I usually bring up 4 pairs every day 3 pairs of thin 509, difference kinds. they all get wet after a few rides and a thick pair of Klim for the cold days or the ride down at the end of the day. Up on the mountain u should alway had a dry pair for the shi-ty emergency stuff and the ride down.

I should have added for emergencies I carry another pair in my pack that don't come out for any reason other than potentially spending the night in an emergency situation. They are mitts which I find much warmer than gloves when things don't go according to plan.

Hard to beat mitts when hands are REALLY cold; or like you say, when things go wrong.

I usually do the whole "mitts in, mitts out" game

Guys think I'm nuts but I carry on average 7 pairs of gloves. Nothing is worse than cold or wet hands

I also make sure I dry my wet hands before sticking them back in any gloves by simply hovering them above the exhaust or clutches, while using a towel I keep in a bag in my pocket.

Klim powerxross gloves are wicked. With heated grips I've almost never had to put on my big gloves. Takes a lot to get them wet, and have lasted me more than one season, which is impressive, as I've never had another pair (other than big mitts that rarely come out of the pack) last a full season without tearing.

Like everyone there are so many factors in gloves that no one pair is going to be perfect for everyone.

I like my old Klim togwotee gloves for cold days and keep them in my tunnel bag as a last resort backup as the microfibre inner glove keeps my hands warm.

I like thin uninsulated gloves for almost all my regular riding but I destroy 2-3 pairs a season.

I ended up with a pair of 509 Freeride gloves last winter and while I never give a lot of credit to 509 products I do like them. Insulation on the back side, good fit, seems to be quality finish.

Okay for nice warm days go with a KLIM / SKIDOO / RMK motorcycle type glove. 30-50 bucks

For colder days go with a two piece glove … REMOVABLE INNER shell and an ICE CLIMBING GLOVE BLACK DIAMOND / MARMOT etc.

Have at least 3 pairs of various weights of inner gloves (all synthetic wicking material) For external gloves seems GOAT leather PALMS last best with Gortex or Event between the fingers and hard backing. Inners around 20 each (can use synthetic work gloves $5 but make sure they are synthetic so they wick) Ice gloves 50-100 on sale.

FOR those really really really cold days OUTDOOR RESEARCH Military Mutant Modular MITTENS with trigger finger (switch / button control) using the glove type inner liners as stated for ice gloves. These were discontinued by the military so they went for 20-50 bucks a pair with GORETEX liners on Ebay. New retail were over $200.

Bring a couple heat packs for the inner glove liners with pouches on the back of the palm.

California weather can swing 60F in a day but 20-40F is common on the snow.

The 509 gloves are garbage, one ride and the palm split wide open. I'm not hard on gloves either. I wouldn't touch 509 in outerwear or gloves, don't believe the hype their gear is absolute garbage. Just because they "PAY" a bunch of pros to use it doesn't mean that it's any good. I have their altitude helmet, looks cool but is very cheaply made. I also have their aviator goggles, also very cheap, and the polarized lenses horribly distort my vision in certain areas. 509 is really only good for sponsorship and films.

I have the ski doo mountain gloves(5 years old), which would still be working good if I didn't damage them (not the gloves fault). My favorite mountain gloves are the Motofist kill switch. Small wrist length uninsulated and not waterproof. Would get wet as soon as I had to dig someone out. But no bulk, the best bar feel in and sled glove I've ever worn, and with dry glove & bar heaters my hands were always plenty warm. Sadly they don't make this original version anymore. Last year I tried the Motorfist WOT as a small waterproof all day glove and was very happy with them!
