last weekend riding down a trail on my 2005 800 x renegade, going about 80mph and lost a cylinder both egts where the same. pulled the plug on clutch side and the plug was pushed togeather no gap?

has anyone seen this before? 3000 miles on it

put a new plug in and rode 20 miles hard, pulled plug out it was fine?

went home checked compression and it was the same as the other day?

ANY IDEAS OF WHAT COULD HAVE WENT WRONG

I've seen this, but only after breaking a ring. What does the top
of your piston look like? Any dings where something was in the engine
and bounced up against the plug, but did relatively little damage,
and went out the exhaust port before destroying the cylinder?

Take a bend-a-lite and look around inside or pull the head.

Otherwise, I don't have a clue.

hahaha, yeah I've seen this before also when the cylinder fairy get's ahold of a small hammer LOL what a bitch
LOL
Seriously though, I have no idea how it happens. Possibly the weld where the j-hook is put on the sparkplug got hot and bent up from weakening on the outer rim of the plug? Could happen

Ive done it several times, in my case it was caused by foreign objects (ie. busted ring) and also from pootched bearings.
