Looking to get a monosuit for this season. Not sure if I need an insulated one or non insulated. Will be planning on mostly off trail riding however probably some trail riding. Are the uninsulated ones really enough without having a bunch of layering? Anybody doing the same mix of riding? What are u guys finding?

Uninsulated for me. Had a 509 Stoke, and now a Fly Racing. Typically wear an Under Armour Cold Gear base layer top and bottom, gym shorts, a moisture wicking t-shirt, and the 509 R-Mor vest. And I'm usually hot 90% of the time.

Having a good windproof shell is the main thing, then you can layer underneath. My arms will sometimes get cool on the trail to the steep and deep (not cold), and a long sleeve t-shirt added to the above gets me by. Rode a couple days last season of 20-30 below Fahrenheit, and added a Merino wool base layer to the top, swapped gym shorts for sweat pants, and was good to go.

I have the doo bc, I have the insulated liner and used it mostly last year. The last trip I went without liner and it was much easier to maneuver. This year I will go without liner and figure out what layers work best for me. I just wear fleece lounge pants. That said I would not want the bottom of my suit insulated as I never get cold there usually chest and arms, so I wouldn’t want that baggage.

My son has a lynx mono with very light insulation but the price was so reduced we had to buy it :) he wears just joggers and tshirt sweatshirt.

You wouldn't happen to have the Model of this suit, would you?
I apologize. It is a CKX however they don't make it anymore. if you go to the website SNOWMOBILE One-Piece Suits | CKXGear USA they have options for 0, 60g, and 120g.
However if you go to the FXR website, they sort of do it. Even their uninsulated have a thermal liner at the seat and knees where there is contact to get cold. The insulated versions have more in the body and less on the sleeves. That's a nice mix too.
If I were to buy a suit today, it would probably be the FXR with the FAST technology in case I go in water, it's always nice to have a built in floatation assistance!
