Mini Z

I picked up a used mini z this past weekend. It seems to run good, but the clutch seems a little noisey and jerky. Is that normal, or is it something I should look at? It seems ok once it engages, but when it's idling it seems like it's almost trying to engage already at idle speed.

My sons is the same way. GUess it is normal. I always tell him to hit the brake to ensure that the clutch is disengaged. Sometimes it wants to move by itself.

May be idling to high (edge of engagement). If it's adjustable you may need a lighter spring or heavier weights.

Stock clutch. There really is no adjustment there. I played around with the idle a little but it doesn't happen very often.

if it's jerky check the chain they go bad and get stiff making it jerk on take off. If they are going to ride a lot go to recmotor.com and get a new clutch does not have to be the expensive one a chain tentioner #35 chain and gear, and the govenor kit and cut them loose!
I got an 02 last year for my daughter and it has a few mods and that one is jerky as well.
