I'M RELATIVELY NEW TO THE SPORT AND NOT OVERLY MECHANICALLY GIFTED.
I'D APPRECIATE A LIST OF THINGS I SHOULD BE CHECKING/DOING REGULARILY TO KEEP AN 04 800HO GADE IN TOP RUNNING ORDER.
THANKS IN ADVANCE.

i am a little anal about my sled maintenance, but this is what i do.
good inj oil. dont cheap out
run premium
grease sled after every ride (the next day)
check bolts after every ride (the next day)
fill fuel and oil tanks after every ride before putting it in garage. (less chance of condensation)
pull and clean clean clutches every three rides (like i said, little anal )
change chaincase oil and check chain every three rides
every ride we go on is about 12 hours, so take applicable hours from that. lots of miles on the sled and no problems (knock on wood) yet.
works for me

I think what mtnloverxtreme said is a nice idea but I think for the more sane rider I would do the following:

grease sled a couple times a season unless you rode in water.
check bolts every thousand miles or so
clean clutches at begining of season and check for worn parts
change chain case oil at end of season
check chain case oil level every week
check chain tension every 500 miles
check plug color and condition every 500 miles
give the sled a quick look over before and after every ride
your drive belt should last a couple thousand miles but if you suspect a problem
or you smell rubber burning then I would check it
look over your owners manual real close and go by their maintenance schedule

These sleds have become more and more gas'ngo machines. Unless you feel or hear that something doesn't seem right with your sled I would just ride and enjoy it
