I would like to know who would win between the two. All my buddys say that the apex would beat the mach but I dont think so. Whats your opinion.

mach no doubt, my 800 takes an apex everytime, unless the race is 2 miles long.
Thats the kicker right there, i've heard my neighbor say that a setup apex was whuppin on 1000RT's in anything over 1.5miles.... (his 1000 being one of them)
Apex until 100 MPH, if clutched, stock not even close, after that, chow chow apex and ZZZZZZZZZZ first on top.

This has not been my experience.

Every Apex I've run has been back multiple lengths after a 1000 or so feet, can't say that about any Mach's I've run.

Then again a well set up Apex will beat a Mach in bone stock form, i.e. clickers on 6.
There are a lot of sh!tty running machs out there. APex is fast as hell too. This race will come down to who has the better clutching and TRACTION!

I agree you DOOSKIX, however, Just drop the clikers on 1 or 2, the Mach is gone.
Me too, this has been my experience.
Stock for stock, mack Z first. My experience was on the lake. 2000 feet.

stock for stock...in a dash the apex will take the z, because the apex has the 1.25 lug...now put the 1.25 lug on the z, combined with the 20lbs lighter chasis and the +20hps you have a faster sled. #s aren't exact but almost.
it is amazing how much that extra .250 lug makes!

That would definitely change the outcome in a shorter drag...

I have raced several Apex's last winter (on snow) with my 800HO, stock but set up well (clutching, gearing, susp etc...) and there was only ONE Apex that was close. He had some good clutching and was within 1/2 to 1 length in 600 ft, then we went to close to 2000 ft and nothing changed, he was still nipping at my seat but not gaining at all. We raced at least 15 times just to be sure

That goes the same for all the F-7's that were there too, most not a problem, 1 or 2 very close.

I think most 800 HO's and F-7's could will a stock MACH-Z in a 500ft snow drag, and possibly a "set-up" Apex, but 1000-2000ft or more lake racing the MACH's horsepower will take over, if it looses your tuning sucks

I have a 04 800x and my buddy has 05 Mach. My sled can not even touch that Mach. We each have 1.25 track and studs. He's clutched as well as I am and I have SPI head he has Cudney's domes. At at stop, roll, or 80mph plus I cannot even come close to that Mach

I have a Mach Z X 06' with the 1.25" track and it will outpull the apex with no problem, I'm not trying to start something it just the way it is...with the Yamaha's I've encountered.
