Anyone out there have the LinQ Ice auger mount and use it with the new ION Alpha Plus with composite 8” auger? The composite auger has a larger octagonal shaft and I am wondering if it will fit in the clamps of the auger mount?

I have used it with my 10” Auger and it works great. As long as the shaft is still approximately 1” in diameter (or whatever it is that the clamp holds) I don’t see why the octagonal shape would matter.
Round or octagonal shaft, the final outside shaft diameter is all that should matter.
Do you know the diameter of the auger shaft? If so, I can go measure the clamp on mine to see if it would fit.
Thank you for measurements. The Auger is at our cabin and I just got home. I will measure the shaft next weekend but I am fairly certain the shaft is going to be larger than 1”. If I were to guess it will be about 1.5” in diameter.
I have that problem now...I just got the auger mount on but I have the 40V Strikemaster auger and the bit is too thick and it will not clamp shut on the blade. Very poor design. Any way to get it to work better for the 1.5 in. diam. shaft? Looking for options.
The clamp for the bit will not clamp down on the Strikemaster Lithium 40 V bit. The diam. is too big. I sent a message to Ski doo for what they can tell me about a possible way to still use it. More people are using these augers and they need to accommodate for them.
Look at Electroforge in Two Harbors, MN Veteran owned. He makes magnificent rack systems that fit right into the LinQ. A little higher on the price, but it will be the last system you'll ever need.
just installed extra light auger bit and with the new hex shaft didn't fit less than 5 min fix pair of channel locks bent the rubber wings just a tad locks in great now not a big deal to fix super easy.
