Does anyone where a knee & shin combo pad while riding?

Im on blood thinners so it doesnt take much to make me bleed anymore and I also seem to bang up my knees and shins when i ride. Was going to put knee pads on the sled but then I am gluing something on the sled and really that doesnt protect my body from hitting other things. Not looking for some hard plastic super beefy like hocky goalie pads just something under the pants to give a bit of cushion.

I've recommended these a few times. Had a bad knee injury hitting the bars going over the front of the sled hitting a tree that was not cut back all the way off the trail. Decided to buy these to protect for future sudden stops. Although that is about the only thing I have ever hit.

These work great, go under the bibs, you forget you have them on. Very light. And really help if you are up on the chassis. Much better than the stick on pads on the sled.

Thinking you are on the correct track to protect both knee and shin.

I bought a super cheap pair for the "frame" then added padding. Have sled pads also.

If you are on blood thinners I wonder if you will need to add to the strap length to ensure it is not too tight on your skin for the long rides?

Good luck, glad your are looking for ways to be safe and keep on riding!!!

For shin guards, I'd strongly consider soccer equipment. These are pretty good: Not terribly expensive...low profile and designed to go under socks, flexible, and do great with impacts. Both my daughters wore them through 10 years of soccer. They're washable too.

For knee pads, I also recommend the sledtreds. I have them on two sleds, my 3rd came with skinz. I also wear Klim bibs that had knee pads built in.

This Is what I wear under my bibs, EVS is the brand, $85, Cheap, comfortable, and offer some decent protection, console pads are for comfort, they offer ZERO protection in an impact. Knees are expensive to fix and fragile just like grandmas china.
I really like those!
Thanks for sharing. I'm going to look at some right now.

The set I bought had plastic "pins" holding the hinge you are talking about. They snapped, changed them out to aluminum, they snapped. Now I have thin light weight rope knotted off, can't snap and has more flex. . .

(No, I was not ridding that hard, just me being me, kneeling asking for more snow mostly. . .)
