For you guys that wear motocross style knee guards/pads what brand and model are you wearing? I'm not to keen on the skidoo knee pads that stick on the sled for the G4. Looking to get a pair you wear under pants instead.

I like the idea of shin protection, but think they might uncomfortable wearing for all day riding.

Im looking at the Leatt stuff specifically.

Leatt 3DF Hybrid https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/leatt-3df-hybrid-knee-guards?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIvKG28f6L5gIVhonICh2AXwFUEAYYAiABEgK4MfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Leatt 3DF Hybrid EXT https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/leatt-3df-hybrid-ext-knee-shin-guards

What do you wear and recommend?

I got some cheapies(on sale for $9.95) that I wear under my snow pants. They have 2 velcro streach bands. One just below the knee & the other just below the calf. They have taken several hits from tree branches & such. worth their weight in gold! And they keep my lower legs warmer too!

There are others that strap above & below the knee that help to keep you from hyper extending your knee.

I think they are &100+. Some of the pro riders use them all season.

Cause if they screw up the knee, they are out for the season

As I get older I needed something so started with a cheap pair as talked about above last season, top of the knee all the way down and just over the top of the boot. I like them and does not seem to bother but I have had issues with the plastic "pins" the hold the knee hinge together, they failed so put in aluminum, they failed so I drilled in larger ones. (If they fail I think it will be a good thing I was wearing the guards. . .)

I wish I would have had them years back, for the cost it is well worth the try to see if you like them. (You can always sell them or give them to other you ride with if you don't like them, other than time to put them on I see no reason not to wear them. . .)

I can't say I "recommend" this brand but gives you an idea. . .

Good luck!

I crashed hard on my enduro bike wearing Leatt Dual Axis knee guards. I ended up with, among other things, a torn meniscus and small fracture on the plateau of my tibia. I think the guards significantly reduced whatever injuries I could have had but they aren't perfect. I still use the the knee guards around the house as knee pads as they're better than any construction model. For enduro riding and sledding, I've switched to POD K4 braces which are probably overkill for your wants/needs but I'm young and am trying not to further any damage to my knees. I'll add that I use the 3DF Hybrid elbow pads and they work great. I never need to worry about them falling down and the protection feels good.

I use these. Love them and fit under my Klim Togwotee bibs.

KNEE &Leatt SHIN GUARD 3.0 EXT BLLACK

Leatt Knee and Shin Guard 3.0 EXT $59.99

Hard-shell, extended length design with 3DF impact foam that offers premium protection. No sock/sleeve and we've used a strap system to make taking these on and off easier and possible over pants.

Now with a new slimmer knee pad profile and improved sliding surface, it offers a great fit with ergonomic left/right shapes.

I've seen that model as well. The difference between the 3DF model and 3.0 is the soft foam knee cap I think. 3.0 has hard plastic while 3DF is using Leatt's 'special' soft foam. Could be more comfortable on a long days ride.
