I have an 05 mxz x 800 with HD springs and stiffer valving but it still isn't enough for the jumps I hit and when I land it seems to bounce like hell on the front. I was wondering if anyone has put Ohlins shocks on one of these and how they are. I would be especialy interested if you use them for jumping.

Get something with adjustable rebound damping so you can slow it down for HUGE stuff. Ross at Hygear could set you up with Ohlins or, better yet, Axis and you WON'T be disappointed compared the the HPG JUNK on Doo sleds.

Have Fun,

there is nothing bad about the HPG shocks. the valving is just soft stock. I have my 04 X valved the same as a 440 with stiffer springs on the front and back. I over shot the double I have in my back yard and landed in the flats and did not bottom out. the gap is 32 feet and I went around 40 feet.

Ya I have a couple of jumps here mine is 75 feet I #*&% up and went 80 feet landed flat and I bottemed out. Then my buddy has an 80 footter and a 45 footer. I'm pulling the shocks off for the third time now to get them valved stiffer. I don't do a lot of big jumps like that on hard pack I mostly ride in the mountains and hit natural stuff but if I come off a whip or something where you land funny it kind of kicks my "edit for bad language"(because of the bouce after it bottems) and I have had a few good wrecks because of it . Do you know how much Ohlins shocks would cost in Canadin dollars for my sled, Because if these ones don't work for me pretty soon I'm going to have to get better ones. I love the sled it self it's the best thing I ever rode but it's causing these problems because I'm jumping bigger with it.
