I'm cleaning out my garage and I'm going to put two old sled motors on Ebay. I'd like to get as much info as I can on them. Seeing as this is a SkiDoo site I'll look for info on the SkiDoo motor I have. It's a Type 434 Rotax 440 engine with serial number 2300656. It has a single carb (HR 112A) and the thing about this one is that the compression is high compared to other motors. Normal compression on a sled motor is around 130 to 150 psi, from what I've seen. This motor has right around 190 psi! Is this normal for a 440? Is it rare? Any idea on HP? Any info is greatly appreciated.

With that carb it looks like a 73 Nordic . To me the compression seems high . Maybe someone has been playing with it or moded it possible high altitude heads. Good luck

The type 434 was known for detanation problems, due to High Compression and transfer port postioning.

For someone needing 1 I would guess $200
