Is a 2 stroke oil filter necessary?

Is one of thos small filters necessary for the 2 stroke oil? Seen them in a book and only a few bucks?

If you are talking abt. the small inline filter between the oil res. and the pump my answer is YES it is very important. Any small partical of crap could either destroy the pump get plugged in the pump or small line to intake.

Don't see one between the oil tank and the head. Also do i see a gas filter. I will put both in.
