Ever been roosted by hardpack snow and ice by an 800cc sled with a 1.25" track at WOT? It can be just as dangerous as a rock.

Hope your son returns 100%. There will be idiots no matter where you go, I hope the ones you encountered have to peel their sleds off a tree.

Yes I have - by friends... then again I accidentially sprayed my boy once with ice chips on the lake... cut him up but good but he wasnt wearing a helmet.
Never seen a visor break though.

Jeeze.... man hope they didn't scare him too much...

I got totally roosted 2 week-ends ago... had my visor open just a crack (now thinking that was likely a bad starting point - launching off the road and into the ditch off the bank) long story short... took me 15 minutes to clean the crap out, ice pebbles, snow, grass, & stones... thought for sure it broke my visor but luckily it didn't..

I hope you catch the "edit for bad language".. guys like that need some shaking up... especially when little kids are involved..

Ask the local dealer or a couple guys around town who has those sleds, odds are they will know...

Hope your boy recovers and all goes well!

love

That must have been a fair size piece of ice

I hope the kid gets well and god help the guy that flew by you if he did any permanent damage.

just a couple things i notice about your thread..and before you get going i would be mad too BUT....#1 we including you have passed people and accelerate and spray..it happens...not exactly sure of situation but that may have been just honest mistake....we have some horrible snow conditions this year and everyyhing is rock hard and mixed with dirt.....hope your son is fine...i would make sure that the helmet he was wearing is dot and snell because ive had lot of junk hit my shileds and never seen one crack/shatter as his did......but then you state 3 other guys trying to pass us...why would you not let them by...seems to me you were out with your son having good ol time...why not just let them go on at there pace....maybe you were doing a lil of the hot dogging and got the spray from it.......my point is you got people stating in there posts to you 'hope his sled finds a tree or something like that'....you state they wont walk when i get through...just take a minute and really think it out...did you maybe put lil man in part of the harm..?...really posts like this just make us all look bad....my .02

I didnt want to be the first to say it but maybe the guy didnt even mean to or know that this happened. Sure there are lots of idiots out there and even more ignorance....
Then again there are even more than both of those groups who weren't even aware of something happening. Not out or lack of care, its just hard to know what comes off your track at times....

My buddy was riding with a group of us last year and he was behind an X with a 1.5 track and his shield broke. It can happen. Sometimes they just hit right or wrong. Hope your son is Ok, but I don't think that anyone would do that intentional. I mean we roost each other all the time, but I wouldn't do it to someone out of out group. I am sure that if they saw you had a kid aboard they would have taken it easy.

First off I hope the big guy is OK.

Next, I hit my riding buddy just below the eye the other day with a rock or something, just riding. No one was passing, no one was roosting, no one was hot dogging - we were just riding as we normally do. His shield was cracked open a bit and apparently that was enough. I have a 1.25" track with no studs, but as has been said, sometimes it just happens. Same night, my hand gaurd took a decent hit from his sled too. Good thing it was there or I'd have been hurting. The snow conditions suck this year so unfortunately we are going to see more of this stuff.

Again, I hope the Big Guy is alright.

I agree that there are good times to pass and bad times. Not justifying what they did. If I had a kid aboard I would pull over and let them go just like my wife does every time that someone comes up on her. Now passers should also respect other riders enough to give them the chance to let them by. If someone is going slow you don't pass at 100 mph.

come on now you can get hurt any time out riding just because you got passed and stone hit him nobody can help that, i would of passed you to but only when safe and why the hell would you say this and i quote " when i find you when i`m done you guys will never sled yet alone WALK" ok makes since im gonna kick your "edit for bad language" because you passed me and your machine threw a stone and hit Jr , thats snowmobiling, people get hurt leave him at home with mommy next time and it wont happend. My goggles got broke last year by a stone on a rail road grade out of indian river from a on coming sled , i didnt go hunt them down and want to fight. its called an "accident"
