I saw the new SD ads in the magazines

I laughed pretty good seeing those ads with the weights being stacked on the hood of the MXZ. The Apex and Attak are fantastic sleds but its true, the Yami's are 80 to 100 lbs more and its all on the front end. According to the ad, they list the 800 PTek getting 20 mpg? Who is getting that? I'm not. Maybe 12 MPG on my 2006 Gade 800, but certainly not 20. I think that is a bogus statement from Doo. If a guy weighed about 90 lbs and only putted around, you might get 20 MPG, but not during real trail riding. Anyone else think that 20 MPG statement is silly?

Not 20, but I did get as good as 18mpg and thats no bullsh&%.
must be driven by a old lady and not mesh the throttle much , but I did manage to get around 16.7 MPG for my 800 P/T

I think when they come up with those numbers it's done in a factory setting with the sled on a dyno or something similar. Certainly not real world conditions - they advertise milage for vehicles the same way - I've never gotten the milage the adds say.

So under perfect conditions with no resistance or weight the sled is capable of getting 20mpg - great, that helps me alot!! hehehehe

If you look at the bottom of the ad it says that is in canadian form which would equal to 18 mpg US. Thats why people always say read the fine print.

Good call!

No different than cars, they never get what's posted either.
That's cause there's no wind, no bumps, never vary the speed, all of which is obviously not the real world!
the 06 600 SDI gets more MPG than advertised... (at least more than adverted in 06)

I routinely got 20+ with VERY aggressive riding- (hard packed trail)

very pleased, with the 04 SDI I could only get 16!

what do you take us for?
20+ MPH aggressive riding

Aggressive and trail riding don't belong together in the same sentence - that's an oxymoron
What, did they forget to groom the trail the day before

I have gotten 16- 18 mpg on my 2005 800 ho. I weigh about 200 and dont ride real aggressive but not a grandpa either.

There is only 1 way a Skidoo would get 20 MPG, it would have to be towed @ idle by a Yamaha!

I was getting 13.8 mpg with my '05 800HO Adrenaline. My cousin was getting 14.2 with his '06 X.
Only the 600SDI will get that kind of mileage, until you hammer on it, then the SDI sucks back the gas!

The Pteks are very nice for economy, but still wont get you 20mpg. But you will see around 15mpg+ depending how you ride.

17 regularly with my 06 800 Gade
the actual difference between a US gallon and a Canadian is

1US gallon = .83 CAN gallons

So this means if you are getting 20 mpg in canada, you take 20 and multiply by .83, which equals 16.6 MPG in US gallons. Does this make more sense to everyone? You also have to take this into account when you are calculating the price of gas in Canada
My 05X PT

On a long run (hungover) between gas in QC I went 153 miles on 33 L of fuel.
That's 20.9 MPG CDN

Another run with a 220# friend on the back while his melted down Poo sat at the dealer went 138 miles on 29L of fuel. That's 21.4 MPG, but we went like hell downhill !

I repeatedly got 110+/- miles on 28L on my 06 Gade geared up 1 tooth. darn good by me.

Well I can't tell you what my best ever gas milage was, but I can tell you what my worst ever was. 5.5 MPG

That was on a poker run from Tok, Alaska to Dawson, Canada. It was 77.2 miles from Tok to Chicken, we made it in just under 50 minutes (had to stop and pee a couple of times
) I had a 4 gal Tour buddy on my sled and I took 14.3 gals of gas at Chicken. To run is over a groomed highway that closed during winter, we ran it full throttle nearly all the way. I held the throttle to the handle bars for 10 - 20 minutes at a time. Say what you want about the Bombardier motor - but it's been nothing but good to me.

I don't care what kind of fuel management system you got, at WFO the same amount of gas is dumping through that motor.

My 06 800X Gade has never gotten over 11 mpg. 9mpg is typical. My friend I ride with gets 7-8 mpg on his 1000X Gade. 75 miles and he's out of gas. We are strictly trail riding in the UP and WI.

You guys have issues...

I get better mileage when im really beating on the ol beast. Y'know, simple riding, its either sitting at idle or WFO
