Hi all!!
Great to be finally joined.

I got lucky. I have a good friend that sold me an 2000 MX-Z that im trying to identify the submodel. Vin is 2BPS16226YV....... So its made out of Canada it looks like, lucky there. Its got the Rotax. The decal on the size says "Special Z" but im having a hard time finding info on this, can anybody shed some light? Is this the Special Millenium Edition, or what is meant by Special Z?

Cant wait to talk more about this machine!!

Made out of Canada? They all are
Rotax? They all are

special? I’m not seeing it. Post an image of the tag by the vin where your right ankle would be if your seated.

possible it’s a factory mod of some kind?
But usually they won’t have a full normal VIN

I think somebody put a sticker on it and told you a story. I think Mill Edn sleds were grey/blue/silver

They all are? That's awesome. Thanks for the clarification, i was just basing that on the VIN. My F150 was made in CA also, good ole northern equipment. Some parts are from Austria on it i see as well.

I wasnt sure on the sticker, cant tell, but looks factory, however it seems the color on it would maybe have lasted longer, but maybe it was an experiment. I did take a close look at it and it looks to be on there really well, has raised letters, and perfectly straight, but who knows. Ive been trying to figure that part out.

Yeah I no longer think its a Mill, I just dont know what's different on it than other MX-Z's.

What you have there is a "spring order" 2000 MXZ 700. It was only available as a spring order in 1999 and delivered in Fall of 1999. It came with DPM attached to the carbs which was supposed to assist with jetting at different altitudes. It came in black only. The standard 2000 MXZ 700 did not have to be spring ordered, came in yellow and without DPM. I owned a spring order for a few years and it was a fast sled for it's day. I had a 1.25 Ripsaw on it and had the shocks done by Monster Performance. Fun sled. I kept it around as back up sled to ride around my neighborhood until a few years ago. Sold it for $2k.

Yours is definitely NOT a Mil edition, it's a spring order. Here's a few pics of mine.

Wow, thanks for the info! That makes sense. Its great to know that, and that you enjoyed it. So how much faster are they nowadays, because this thing rips!!!!! I got it running first time on Monday, and blasted up and down the yard, super impressed!

As far as the DPM I'm at 3600ft (mntns.), and it was about 20-25F, so i think it should have been active, but maybe not leaning since i may not have been high/cold enough. I just hope i have that extra tube (that maybe is supposed to be open ended) connected to the electronic rail tube-stud right next to where the DPM electrical connector goes to right now.

Any idea if the "Special Z" is a factory slogan or if somebody just stuck it on there? So what tells you that its a Spring Order, because its Black? Interesting...
