Ive got a 2002 mxz 800 with hpg i beleive they are the rebuldable ones they dont have the remote resevoir. Yellow springs and the shock says hpg anybody know if i have to buy a new shock or if i could just have both shocks rebuilt and they could put a new one of these in? What is bent is the chrome rod that goes up and down into the shock itself???? Any help would be greatly appreciated,, also any one who could do it if possible, or a place maybe i could buy one shock or maybe a pair of better one's without breaking the bank...thanks

I buy bent HPG's all the time. Just take it to a reputable machine shop and they can put it straight again. Then get it rebuilt. A Machine shop that has experience fixing lower units for boats is the best.

dont know where your from but you have several choices. www.deycore.com
goodwinperformance.com
hygearsuspension.com
look up tweener here he fix's shocks or if you are on the east coast I can fix your shock. shafts are $75 so no matter what its not cheap. Take a good look if the shaft is really bent at the seal carrier (the gold piece at the end of the shock body) make sure the seal carrier isnt damaged because they are like $50.
The minimum cost is like $100

Save yourself the trouble and look at buying a new shock instead. Kimpex gold are good. They will want about $150.00 to fix plus your running around or shipping.

I speak from experience on this one. not worth getting it rebuilt. New Ski Doo center Shock for my 02 was almost $300.00 with tax.
..... yes but it'll be light years better than a Kimpex. I know these things are marked up like crazy. Like skippy said you could try Deycore. They have some built out of Fox parts that will fit.
I have a brand new HPG rebuildable for $150 if interested.
10-4 on the Kimpex=junk comment!
thanks guys calling deycore tomm. thanks for all the suggestions voodoo do u have two? Thanks again really appreciate it!!!!!!!!!
