dealer quoted me $100 to install the fuel gauge-seems high

has anyone gotten this work done at the dealer?

What would you think is fair for the temp guage and fuel gauge install?

No, doesnt seem expensive to me, I just put a fuel guage in and takes a little time, pretty easy to do yourself.

Temp guage should be a little cheaper as you only have to cut out the guage and hook up some wires.

I installed my temp gauge in about 30 minutes and is pretty simple. The fuel guage is a bit more involved but I haven't done one.

Me and a buddy put an electronic fuel gauge on my 2006 REV last month. We went slow to do it right and it took a couple hours. But $100 does not sound bad to me at all to have the dealer put it in. You will need to take off the seat and much of the panel pieces around the bars and current mechanical gauge. There is a template on the top of the tank to cut a hole and install the sender. Then you pretty much connect it into the plug unit is already pre-installed. The electronic gauge is way better than the old mechanical.
