Hey, to drop the track look up by the rear idler wheels and there should be a hole that you can drill out to move them down thus lowering the track to fit the 3/4 inch protectors in.

It is circled in the picture.

Yep, drill the new holes. Or if you have a welder handy you can mount some new plates which allow you to mount the skid even further down to provide ample clearance. Make SURE your new studs don't come close to hitting the front of your tunnel near the drivers, even if they clear now they might not under hard accelertion or track slippage. Good luck!

drilling or welding sounds liketo much work any other things? why di get these things in the first place? may put the stock ones back ant take a chance? why do they sell tunnel protectors if they won't fit?
If its a stock track and you are using the correct stud lenght, you need the new tunnel protectors but you do not have to drop your suspension a bolt hole. Drilling out a hole is to much work??
forgot to mention when i bought the sled the rear suspension was set at #2 for a women and i moved it to #4 for me at 240 lbs if that makes a differance? So macker, is it ok still to put in the 3/4 protector and not worry about it?

The suspension settings are a whole different deal then protecting your coolers. You should not count on spring or shock settings to keep you from driving a stud into your cooler. The tunnel protectors need to be tall enough that when you hit a big bump/whoop/oh "edit for bad language" (and you will) the track will make contact with the protectors and there will still be clearance between the stud tips and your cooler. Your dealer should be able to confirm you have the correct protectors for your stud length. My fins on my cooler on my 97 MXZ (just like THT's) had scratches and some light damage but nothing close to the core with the fluid in it. On another note if you weigh 240 lbs do yourself a favor and order the heavy duty rear springs fo your suspension. Not the coils on your shocks but the suspension springs themselves. I did it and it made a big difference, I go about 210 lbs, its money well spent. And if your still looking to throw some cash around, order the spring spacers from our fellow doo-talker, they go inside the coil and align the spring. They are here on the site.

So its safe to say that under normal riding my 3/4 protectors will be fine , but under big bumps i'm expected for the track to hit the protectors then? Its just the 3/4 look so big, and dont want the track to be rubbing under normal driviving.
If you want to stud, you have to be willing to make a few changes. You'll need to drill new holes for the mounts, yes it is a lot of work but it's pretty straight forward. Go and buy yourself a brand new bit to make the job easier.

What mount are u refering to? The studs came with a bit and the tunnel protectors slide in?
Hey guys now I was posting the same question about a month ago when I was doing my 121 to 136 and everyone that responded told me that I could not drill out that lower hole. It would change the profile of the rear suspension??? Let me know what you think because I would like to get more clearence on my sled???? Thanks

I have studded 5 S chassis's and 4 ZX's and never dropped the suspension to the lower hole. Always had the stock track on, put the correct stud length in, use the right tunnel protectors and you will have no problems.
