I was wondering if anyone knew the hp. of the skidoo's being built. starting with the 500ss, 550f, 600, 800, and the 1000. sdi and regular needed. You see I got arguing with a friend that likes yamahog's and he is talking his up big so I need some help to put him in his place. Thanks all for your help.

Any links known that I can check the specs of the motors??

Those Kw numbers seem low or the HP numbers are high. It takes 750 watts to make 1 HP.

They seem on to me.
There not off by much if you figure 750watts per hp, but the higher hp sleds are off by more.
most the yammis do make good power but also weight 80 lbs or more that is why thier 1000 cc sleds are in the 600cc class they can't compete.

Thats what I thought but only having a 550 he just keep going and going. Wish I had my old 583 and I'd give him a run. And one of my buddies checked out a cat theother day and said it was a 4 strike 3 cyclinder turbo geting about 105 hp and roughly 40 mpg. If it was in a rev frame I'd look at that.

40 MPG - right...not a chance.

As for the HP numbers in the link, some are down a little. The Type 995 (1000 SDI) is now 172HP, the 600HO SDI is doing 120HP all day, and the new 151HP 800R isn't listed.

As for Yammi, their 3 cylinder 1000cc engine is also 120HP. I think the 4 cylinder is up to 150HP now thats it's fuel injected.
