Has anyone tried both the FXR Heated Recon and Brp Expedition radiant gloves? Trying to decide which ones to buy.

Well, I have tried the Klim heated gloves, and an off-brand name Amazon pair and I am trying to sell but no bites as of yet.
But have never had the FXR heated gloves. But I do have the Expedition Gloves now and I think they are going to work out pretty well. I like the fact I can control the heat with my phone with the App. If you don't need heat it will not heat your glove like the Klim Goves did. They were always on no matter what. Where the Expedition gloves will only heat to your desired temps. I have only tried just a little but not on a real trail at speed as of yet. I also like they heat on the back side of your hand also.
On thing to keep in mine if you decide to get the Expedition gloves I feel as if the run a little small for the size stated. I usually get XL so I did order that size. Well, I tried for a couple days thinking they would stretch some but no go. So, wife tried them and said they are good for her. So, I ordered up to XXL and then they were just right.
Other than what I have said I really want to get them out more but still waiting for snow like most people. Here are a couple screen shots of the App and What They will tell you. The one pair is mine and the other my wife's.
Edit: What I think will be nice about the Expedition gloves is the battery should last longer is what I am thinking with the ability to control your heat better.

I received the BRP Expedition Radiant gloves for Christmas. Charged the batteries, downloaded the app to my phone. Set the temp, put them on, worked very nice. They only turn on when they sense your hand in the glove. However, when showing them off to a friend 4 days later, the left glove refuses to turn on. You can see the battery is attached and the charge amount (on the app), but the sensor doesn't pick up my hand inside. I've put the glove in different positions, tightened as tight as it goes, nothing. You need to order these close to your hand size (these ate L) for activation purposes. I am now waiting for my next step after contacting the dealer my wife bought them through.

Funny you say close to your size. With my XL was a little too tight so that is why I went to XXL. And most all my gloves are XL in about any model too. And both the XL which my wife wears now and the XXL have worked just fine when we put our hands in them. I use them some now off and on and she does too and so far, no problems.

i've ran the Recons for 2 full season. Will never go without, they're awesome.
You will need 2 sets of batteries as a -10 day will have em cold dead in 3-4 hrs. Swap them at lunch and once the 1st pair gets warm again they will have 1/2 battery left.

I have the leather palm Recons, and they are super durable. Shame they only come in black now.

They work decent as a regular glove, but I have them on low most of the time I have them on. med almost never, and high for couple mins after a pit stop. easy 1 touch to change the settings and red/yellow tree for indication.

I've ran a variety of doo gloves in the past, and never find them warm enough.

The wife and I have FXR's, although I rarely use them. It has to be really cold before I put them on. Yes, we both got 1 size larger than usual. The wife uses her's all the time and the batteries typically last over 4 hours on High for her.

We bring our chargers with us and if they are running low we'll ask wherever we stop for lunch if we can charge them up while we eat.

Otherwise she'll just use my batteries.

Nice gloves altogether.

I have had the FXR and now the Klim electric gloves.

FXR - really thick and somewhat clumsy but warm. 3 temp modes. Need an extra battery to swap at lunch on super cold days. I had a failure with one glove in second year and to FXR's credit they had the store provide a full refund. Bought the Klim ones.

Klim - not as thick so better dexterity with controls. Not as warm though as FXR which is the trade off. 3 modes however pet peeve is that they will only stay on High for a certain time then they automatically switch to Medium.

I really like what BRP has done with the Radiant gloves. Battery life should be much better with the heating adjusting to your hand temps. I just worry about that extra layer of tech and possible failures.

For me, I've migrated to muffs. Super warm and I get to use thin gloves and feel the bars again.

Have recon's, love them. Have spare batteries and the ability to charge them on the sled. Lots of 12/110 adapters that fit in the glovebox for recharging.
I too have the new BRP muffs. There is nothing better in terms of warmth.
The FXR get more use by riding buddies who's hands freeze with regular gloves in the open.
I always carry a spare set of gloves, now it's just a much thinner set.

I had a accident that almost cut my left arm off. I have very little feeling in it. I'm also on blood thinners too. My left hand is always cold. I went with a pair of Electric Mittens instead of gloves, I also put my hand in a pair of nitirle gloves before I put them in my gloves. My hand sweats so much the inside of the glove gets all damp and is cold after that.
I have found now that I use the gaunglets and a glove with the nitirle gloves to stop the wetness inside of the glove and just use a regular glove. On my right I just use a real light glove with nothing inside of it.
I now use my electric ones when plowing( if we get any ) snow in the tractor.

I will let you know once I get a chance to ride then if they are a complete Fail. I really don't think that is too bad to use the App only because I look at it as the same as other Apps if you want to do something else on your phone.

I see that Mechanix brand also makes a fancy body sensing heated glove. Also by Clim8 tech
I dislike the iPhone paired feature, but might be a cheaper option vs BRP... At least they are not plain black.

Good find.

It looks like they have an even more attractive priced version that just isn't as rugged as the work glove version.

$125 cheaper than the BRP glove.
