Headlights

Thinking of replacing my headlight bulbs with some PIAA'S. Are they worth the money? does any one have any experiance with the different bulbs here? I find that the stock bulbs seem to not be as bright as I would like. A friend of mine has a 2006 Polaris fusion and they really seem to throw a hell of a lot more light on the trail than mine. BTW i'm not a fan of the yellow tinted lights ( ion yellow)

Suggestions welcome

Thanks

Dont spend the money on these. Go on ebay and get your self a set of eurodezigns h4 bulbs. 6000K or 8000K works best on snow. I bought the eurodezigns bulbs for like 10 bucks plus 5 bucks shipping and they work great. There PURE WHITE and, in my opinion, are just as good as the piaa's. I never had a problem and have had them in my sled for over a year! Plus there are lifetime warrenty bulb. good luck!

Only problem with aftermarket bulbs is that some (probably most) are of higher wattage.

This puts a strain on wiring, which could be a fire hazzard and also can do some wacky stuff to other electrical devices (tach/spedo/grips) because of the increased draw from the bulbs!

Just something to look out for, i know its been mentioned here a few times.
just go to an auto parts store. look at the man behind the counter. tell him you need sylvania silverstar headlights. Size H4 and you will be happy.
PS. You may no this, but don't touch the bulbs with your bare skin.

You'll pay $50, get some bulbs that burn out way to fast (3-6mo in most of my friends bikes) and aren't as bright as the euro spec ones.

The euro versions are ~$25, free shipping, and last much longer (experience) and make more light (testing).
I just got a really cheap set of halogens and they work for me and I do a lot of night riding.
Silverstars- had them in my Victory and Rev for two years each and I dont baby either.
Piaa H4 Ion Crystal Yellow Well worth it. My opinion... under power sports on Piaa website for H4 Ion Crystal Yellow
I have the Xeon bulbs from royal distributing in my rev and I had them in my Formula and so did my dad, and I don't baby my sleds. they also have a really cool colour to them it's kind of a clear blue it's neat. $16 plus shiping.

I'll second that.

People think yellow bulbs are not as bright because the light is not white. You get the same effect with yellow goggles, put them on on a sunny day and it does not seem as bright but now you can see every detail in the trail. If you think yellow bulbs are no good pull up next to me in a blizzard and you'll see a big difference.

I'll third that. I usually follow and the snow dust kicked up at night gets bad. These Piaa crystal yellows cut through and dont reflect. It's like running fog lights. Plus everyone can see you better cause you stand out.
