Well not to happy after my ride today I noticed my headlights melted my housing is this common bulbs are Sylvania Sylvania silver stars and also on a good note temp light was always on no matter what till a week ago it suddenly went off while riding no lights on the gauges makes me happy

yup mine did that with xeon 100watt bulbs put stock in and its fine too much heat for the plastic housing...

You have to be a little careful when increasing the bulb wattage, more heat can melt the headlight.

How bad did they melt. Mine are not super bad and I kept it

I've been running the Silver Star Ultra whites for years and never had an issue yet with melting. I'd be checking voltage at the headlight socket under throttle. You shouldn't have more then 15v. If you do then it's time to buy my brand new VR that I never used. :D

I'd imagine it's more for slower riders and those that leave there sleds idling. As they are not keeping the headlight housing cool with enough air flOw.
