Heres the deal with aluminum bars and handwarmers. I recently ordered a set of
Cat titanium mtn bars for my summit on snowest. Before I made a decision I asked if anybody knew the heat conductivity Ti as compared to steel and aluminum as I know the aluminum really conducts heat. Somebody posted that aluminum conducts heat about 5 times better than steel and the Ti only about half of what steel does.

Good Luck, if aluminum they will be cold!

fill your bar with silicone or insulation and it will help. but if you put the heaters on hollow bars they will not be very efficent

I have run into probs with heaters on bikes. You have to insulate the heating element from the bar metal. I used a layer of cloth tape (hockey tape) covered by duct tape and then soaped up my grips and forced them on. The bar acts as a heat-sink.
