I have owned four pits over the years. They are absolutely great dogs. One was a rescue, very sweet girl. I think you made a great decision.

 

This is my boy. Has just the sweetest personality. He is my shadow. This is our second one, our first was AKC and had health problems that caused him to pass at an early age of 2 1/2 yrs. This one is not papered and came from a home when he was a pup that was not able to care for the litter. He is probably the most stubborn critter I have ever been around, including Mules and a Donkey's.

Yeah labs are great dogs......these chocolate labs are a little crazier than the rest though, mines about 10 now and he is still like a puppy half the time!

 

This is Lego, pure bred spoiled brat... goes to work with me every day, is scary smart, and is a poon magnet!! I love that dam dog!! Haha!

 

Rescues(cats, dogs, whatever) make the best companions

My two, Male black lab X that needed a home and turned out to be the best dog in the world. He's almost two now. The other is a female ckc agouti Siberian great dog but stubborn as hell, 1.5 years old. Love them both

Sadie just turned 11 months old, one of the best behaved pups I've ever had. She even likes to ride with the kids.

As stubborn as she is, she's also quite accident prone, I wouldn't trade her for the world. Getting a dog will change your life the black lab is the first dog I've ever had in my life and I don't know how I've went so Long without one.

 

The pic of the black lab right here ???? is hilarious! Haha! I have about 500 pics of my mutt sleeping in rediculous places with hilarious faces. This is now the best thread on dootalk.

Here's our 9 month old Female Shepherd, 'Kara'. She was about 6 months old in the picture. She always wants to be wherever the 'pack' is. We've usually had Labs but the younger Son wanted to mix it up.

OBTW, she loves to go hunting too.

They are the most misunderstood breed. Such sweet dogs! My sister has one, and I have a few friends with them also. Congrats on your new best friend! ???? She's beautiful! Look at those eyes! ????????

 

Our Bulldog Roy. We got him at 6 weeks, he turned 9 last fall and is a huge part of the family.

 

Dogs are smarter and better companions than many people, and sometimes better looking. ...

Here are my dogs , one is a female chihuahua here name is Precious and the other is a Yorkie/chihuahua mix and his name is Spike. Both are awesome dogs and I love em like they are my kids !
