My sons and I planning to go west this March 2014 for the first time. We are all experienced riders but mostly northern MN and the U.P.

Looking for a recommendation between the Snowies and the Big Horns. What is the best for some trail riding and some deep powder with a little climbing? We have two long tracks and will probably need to rent a third long track and need a guide for a couple days. We would prefer to ride from our cabin/lodge and not have to trailer.

Any comments greatly appreciated.

Big Horn Mts have a little of everything. Trail riding, open meadows and hills. All of the lodges on the Mt are owned by the same people. Bear lodge, Elkview, and Antler Lodge. Stay at any and ride from your door. For a guide, contact Backcountry Navigators, there are not any better guides in the west.
