Valonmxz I will after we get the new clay installed this weekend. Just hoping the rain holds off so we have an easier time filling in the new clay. Also keeping our fingers and toes crossed that haydays still happens! My father built the tack back in 2007-2008. It was originally built for stock sleds so we didn't mind the slight right curve. It was idle for about 8 years and only the grass was mowed. We recently (last year) got back in grass and jumped up into faster/tougher class so it's time to add some more clay and straightened it out for safety reasons. We are a young team four of us total ranging in age from 31-28 years old. We're learning as we go/paying our dues and having fun while doing it.

Learning the hard way is not so bad.....That's great that your team give each other encouragement. Good luck with the weather :)

My thoughts go to all of you who lost their dad. Feel free to share past memories. I presented mine with my father, but many of you are fathers. And if you are not, then you are undoubtedly a father figure for another kid, boy or girl. I would have loved to have a daughter and teach her how to handle a sled and fend the boys.

My dad was an aircraft mechanic and while my brothers pursued that line of work, I did the electronics/programmer line and became a network manager. But I never forgot my roots and the things my dad taught me. I still use many of the tools he left behind to tear down an engine and put it back together. I surprised my brother a few years ago by rebuilding a 380 motor completely, including crank work, without his help. hehe.

now-a-days, I rebuild just about anything, and I've always give credit to my greatest teacher, my dad.

I just went into the lawn mowing business with my kid. He had been picking up a few lawns to do I. Our neighborhood and was using an old Ferris walk behind with a sulky that he traded his atv for. The Ferris lost a coil and we have about 5 acres he was mowing for me. We went and got a commercial grade gravely a few weeks back and I told him if he got some jobs lined up I would do it with him on fridays because I typically don't work that day because I work mostly out of town. He landed a condo association at the local ski hill/golf course. 16 units and a huge center circle that's almost as big as a ball field. It pays very well. I told him he would have to buy the bagger required for the job and he can get his money back when we get paid. He's saving for a truck and had the money available. He just turned 15 today. He works very hard and I'll do what it takes to keep him interested in working.
My dad has been in a home for almost a year now with advanced Parkinson's so our days of projects have come and gone.
