Gen4 Tundra rear rack or box options

Tundra used to come with a rack, now it comes with standard tunnel mat and linq brackets. Do they make a rack like the simple one of years past? I was mildly interested in the 90L storage box, but wow $425. My dealer also says that these boxes have been on backorder for months.

My plan B may be to use an action packer box or a cooler and put linq brackets on the bottom of it so I can remove it for the occasional trail ride. The cooler may work good as it would have insulation to keep the condensation under control and a good seal to keep the moisture out.

What all have you done on your new Tundras?

I bought one of these for my Gen4 Expedition Sport. It works with the linq brackets that came on my sled. I plan on rigging it up to carry my ice fishing gear but haven't done that yet. I can squeeze a medium Plano sportsman trunk into mine as I have the largest rack. Widthwise a large ammo box from Harbor freight fits and I'll at times carry one with a sno bunje and other things to help me if I get stuck. Lots of ways to configure something like this. https://trailbreakeroutdoors.com/

I also have an Expedition sport with the SSR rack. Have had it for 3 years now and have it mounted with the link adapters. It has held up well.

My only complaint (and it is minor) was that I had to put loctite on all the screws as some had managed to come loose (even though they provide lock washers).

I am thinking of making an additional box to fit in front of my auger's powerhead and my seat as there is still a fair bit of room that can be taken advantage of.

Overall its a great product.

Thanks for sharing guys. With all of my forum/web searches I hadn't come across the SSR rack before. I had something similar on an old sled. It seemed as though it was a not great for most things but works for everything kinda rack. I'm not ice fishing so I really have no need for the auger holder. Looking for a box for a chainsaw, handsaw, and other general use items.

How did you mount your gun rack on the SSR? I messaged them about that rack with a gun mount and they said they were not designed for one and didn't have one in the works. Said they had a few designs but were not a fan of using the kolpin hard cases.
Sorry if the picture was misleading.

The gun is not mounted on my sled. If you look closely you will see an extra set of skis at the front of the sled. There is a second sled behind mine.

Ski Doo now offers a rear rack for 2022 as an accessory. Part # 860202223 for my 2021 Tundra LT $199.99 list price.

It is a little lower than the previous factory racks but still looks like it will work well.

You can even put it on a Summit SP in the "Build & Price"

A quick web search does show me this rack on skidoo.com.. Any pictures of info of how this rack looks when added to a sled? Your right it doesn't look very tall.

I was considering the 90L storage box from skidoo, but it's a little bigger than I'd like and it's over $400. Add another $100-200 to get a saw mounted up to it.

As of right now I've ordered a linq cargo rack plate from Whiteout technologies, linq brackets, a 24 gallon Action Packer, and a simple chainsaw tray that I plan to put on top of box. I'm hoping this achieves my goal of staying light weight, easy to take on/off, and carry a saw. I'll be sure to share what I came up with once I receive all the parts.
