Can anyone tell me if the Gen 4s have a battery tender plug? And where it is located? Since the battery is in the rear behind the seat. Thanks

Looking to install a battery tender quick disconnect plug on my 900.

The plastic cover on the tunnel appears to have a spot made to store the plug when not in use but my Battery Tender-brand connector doesn't stay in place.

Anyone have any luck of it staying in there?

Searched and came across this thread with mounting the connector as shown in the previous post, or on the side of the cover as some have done.

Going with this, where it can be disconnected so the plastic cover can be removed from the sled if necessary:

Attached a couple pics of the tender lead & the spot on the tunnel protector where it is supposed to go.

This is my 3rd sled doing this. Works perfectly.

Could it be true, that the dealer had installed the jump/charge lead as part of a prep? I'd be shocked if they did as my 2019 GT-L 600R came with a jump/charge lead and it just so happens that just earlier today I bought an EC5 to SAE adapter so I can plug the lead into my Weego JS12 in case the machine ever needs a jumpstart.

I'll now hope that the lead comes with the next sled(2020 GT-L 900ACE) as it has been a very handy thing when keeping the battery charged all off-season.

The 2019 Grand Touring Limited 600R I got from one dealer, had the jump/charge-lead, installed on the right/rear side-where the upright is for the passenger grab handle.

The 2020 GT-L 900ACE we got yesterday also came with the lead, but this time it exits from the left-rear passenger grab handle.

The lead, with an adapter, will plug into my Weego JS12. The lead, alone, will plug right into the 1.5A auto charger.

As the battery is buried under the seat, the lead is most welcome.

I also have this receptacle on my 2020 GT Sport. It is currently plugged into the heated visor jack for the passenger. I also have a Optimate battery tender that will plug directly into this receptacle. I assume it is ok to plug the tender in?

That plug is for the heated hand grips. A visor jack will work too. It is just supplying 12V for the accessory.

No, you can't plug a tender into it. It is only on when the motor is running. You need to put a separate tender plug on the battery terminals and have it come out the back and sit there. Or use one of the ideas of a permanent plug like others are showing.

I Set up mine with a tender plug, heated visor and USB off the solenoid with a fuse right away. I couldn't find a good route under the seat for wires that I felt comfortable with without the chance of chaffing. If I need to boost you need to go right to the battery but was surprised they put the torx driver on the other end of the clutch screw. Met a guy who had a booster strapped to his running board but think he failed to see lithium booster loose most of their power in the cold. Between boats, sleds, tractors and bikes I have a stupid number of batteries, all with tenders, Since I started using them years ago I have yet to have a battery fail. When I open my garage all you see are LED lights from the tenders. Just can't seem to convince my neighbors and friends.

On my 1200 BRP had the ground wire daisy chained from the battery- to holder- to block and it failed on the trail leaving me dead. Not sure yet where ground go's on the 900T but I will be ready next time.

Exactly how I did mine. Mine won't fit in the little spot either. I put a zip tie on the positive and negative side. Lead comes out like your picture. Just enough clearance under the battery cover. It only sticks out an inch or 2. I'm good with it like that.

come on...... its only two torx bolts to remove the plastic

Not everybody has tools on hand all the time or wants to contend with them in cold weather out in the field/motel etc.

I trimmed a bit of my plastic and brought it out from under. I have the passengers heat cord locked into the recessed compartment.

I use the fused Battery Tender one and just let it stick out loose under the plastic cover on the left side. Ecklund Motorsports does the same on all their REV G4s they set up.

It does not stay in place in the built in holder.

I zip tie it to the aluminum battery bracket underneath. It has lived there just fine for me on all my REV G4s since they came out.

I installed mine and it fits in the little molded spot. I use a battery tender brand. I removed 1 rivet on the left side of the plastic tunnel protector, and one of the Linq mounts. That way I could lift the tunnel protector up and run the lead through the hole where it is stored. I did have to use a needle nose pliers to pull the lead through the hole. It snaps right in when not being used.
