Can anyone tell me if the Gen 4s have a battery tender plug? And where it is located? Since the battery is in the rear behind the seat. Thanks
My does this also..............its cool IMOI just checked and the dealer did install the battery tender lead. Pretty cool they did that!!!
they all should when they put the battery in!!! its like $4.00 for the lead.I just checked and the dealer did install the battery tender lead. Pretty cool they did that!!!
Wires gauge cant handle the current and the inline fuse would blow instantly. Is it possible to use this battery tender plug to connect a booster pack to help jump start on those extremely cold mornings? Or is the wire too small?
Exactly how I did mine. Mine won't fit in the little spot either. I put a zip tie on the positive and negative side. Lead comes out like your picture. Just enough clearance under the battery cover. It only sticks out an inch or 2. I'm good with it like that.Looking to install a battery tender quick disconnect plug on my 900.
The plastic cover on the tunnel appears to have a spot made to store the plug when not in use but my Battery Tender-brand connector doesn't stay in place.
Anyone have any luck of it staying in there?
Searched and came across this thread with mounting the connector as shown in the previous post, or on the side of the cover as some have done.
Going with this, where it can be disconnected so the plastic cover can be removed from the sled if necessary:

Attached a couple pics of the tender lead & the spot on the tunnel protector where it is supposed to go.
Correct, so this what I did to cover all scenarios. Charge or Jump. Used 6 gauge wires to connect to battery under cover. Got everything on Amazon.Wires gauge cant handle the current and the inline fuse would blow instantly.
Not everybody has tools on hand all the time or wants to contend with them in cold weather out in the field/motel etc.come on...... its only two torx bolts to remove the plastic
Ya, and when you need a boost or need to help someone else its -40f and very windy, and the cheap booster clamps do not make a good connection, at least thats my experience over the years.come on...... its only two torx bolts to remove the plastic
I did the exact same thing.Correct, so this what I did to cover all scenarios. Charge or Jump. Used 6 gauge wires to connect to battery under cover. Got everything on Amazon.
I use the fused Battery Tender one and just let it stick out loose under the plastic cover on the left side. Ecklund Motorsports does the same on all their REV G4s they set up.Looking to install a battery tender quick disconnect plug on my 900.
