Is that chart applicable to the 4 stroke chaincase? Chain length is longer in the 4s due to the reverse gear.

In that book it says the stock gearing and chain 21 51 takes a 116 link chain and in the parts cataloge is says it takes 118 link chain .i wonder which is correct. If anyone has a 23 lynx turbo apart let me know what is in it for a chain and gears please.

 

That's because it doesn't take a 21 top gear stock. It's a 27 top gear and the 118 chain works with the 51 and 49 bottom gear. The 21 gear in the parts manual is wrong. If you actually Google the part number it comes up as a 27 top gear. I just replaced my 51 with a 49 when I replaced my track.

 

Both 850 and 900 Xterrian models have a longer chaincase and use longer chains as a result. This is due to the extra drive axle clearance in the tunnel that they have using deeper lug tracks over the Rave. Has anyone noticed all of the postings discussing the track clearance issues that the Rave has?
