dealer wants to install 23 tooth gear with my new 1.75 hurricane track. says it will perform better at low and mid range but loose a few mph at top end. ride 80 percent off trail. wondering if anyone has this set up.

23-45 would be my choice. But if you do alot of fast trail riding? Maybe a 1.87 ratio would work better. 24-45...26-47. Gearing is Personal preference.

Subtract one tooth off the top gear for every quarter inch of lug height added.

General consensus around here.

I have my 600 gade geared 20-45 with a 1.6 cobra. Stock is 23/45 with 1.25".

I'm running a 24t with my 1.75" track. It's a 129" xrs, and I think it's a perfect gear. I could go down to a 23t if I rode more off trail.

If I had a gade, I'd definitely go with 23.

I dropped on tooth with my 1.75 gade, to a 24 top gear. Sled was fun but we did 50-50 to 60-40 last year. I spoke to a few shops and they said if you do 75% or more off trail, go to a 23t. Keep in mind that Doo sends out gades with 1.6 tracks and 25t top gears, so you should be fine either way.
